The strongest flare of the M8.5 class was recorded on the Sun in June. This was announced on June 15 by the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

"The largest outbreak was recorded in June (preliminary score M8.5) in the area of direct impact on the planet," the report said.

According to the laboratory, the epicenter of the explosion is located in active area No. 4114. Presumably, this outbreak will affect planet Earth.

Earlier, on June 8, scientists recorded a rare plasma release at the south pole of the Sun. According to the IKI RAS, a plasma cloud of rare size and density was formed as a result of the destabilization of a giant solar prominence.
