The Izvestia correspondent spoke about the inaccessibility of shelters in Tel Aviv
Shelters are not available for local residents in the Israeli capital Tel Aviv amid retaliatory missile attacks from Iran. Nikita Kulyukhin, a correspondent for Izvestia, told about this on Saturday, June 14.
"I am in the center of Tel Aviv, near the headquarters of the Israeli Army. I need to find an air raid shelter urgently. There is a metro station nearby that should be open," Kulyukhin said.
The correspondent, talking about the situation in the city, was walking towards the metro station, which, according to the instructions, should be open to the public in emergency situations. However, it was closed.
"Sometimes observing the religious Sabbath in Israel is more important than opening a bomb shelter," he added.
Earlier in the day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the beginning of the fourth wave of Iran's missile attack. According to media reports, during the four waves of Iranian missile attacks on Israel, at least two people were killed and 63 injured.
On June 13, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Iran and declared a state of emergency. In this regard, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure.
Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian stressed that Israel will receive an "appropriate response" for the strikes, which violate international rules. The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in his address to the people, said that the Iranian army would use all force to respond to Israeli attacks.
