Police found a homemade bomb in the house of the school attacker in Austria
During a search of the home of an attacker who staged a shooting at a gymnasium in Graz, the Austrian police found an improvised explosive device (IED). This was reported by the Heute newspaper on June 11, citing sources.
"Investigators reported that a homemade bomb was also found at his home address," the publication says.
As the newspaper noted, the discovered IED was inoperable.
The shooting at the Austrian school occurred the day before. Previously, the attacker opened fire in two classrooms. The shooter turned out to be a student at the school and considered himself a victim of bullying. The body of the attacker was found in one of the school toilets. Later, a suicide note was found in his house.
Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said that nine people were killed in the tragedy: six women and three men, and 12 others were injured. Shortly after, Austrian Chancellor Christian Stoecker declared three days of mourning.
