- The prisoner told about the shelling of the retreating AFU militants with their own mortars.
Andrei Evenko, a captured serviceman of the 24th separate mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), said that the Ukrainian command ordered the soldiers who had left their positions to be shot with a mortar. Footage of the prisoner's interview on June 7 was distributed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"Those who decided to leave their positions or withdraw were crushed by our mortar," Evenko said.
In addition, the captured militant said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked their own positions with Baba Yaga drones.
As Evenko noted, the morale in his team was at a low level. According to him, the Ukrainian army was often engaged in looting, taking things and jewelry from the homes of local residents.
"There was looting on the part of the Ukrainian army — they were breaking into houses, collecting gold rings <...> and collecting things," Evenko said.
On June 5, Ivan Cherepko, a captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that employees of the territorial recruitment centers of Ukraine (the military recruitment center is an analog of the military enlistment office in the country) forcibly catch residents on the streets and send them to the front without proper training.
