At least five people were injured when a car hit the market square of Friedrichstadt in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany. This was reported on June 6 by the Welt TV channel.

According to media reports, the 70-year-old driver was driving, who caused the incident by losing control. A car crashed into an ice cream parlor.

The condition of all the injured is not life-threatening. It is noted that one of the injured women suffered a femoral fracture.

The reasons for the driver's loss of control of the car are still unclear. It is tentatively assumed that the man may have had health problems. Police are investigating, so far calling the incident an "accident."
