Kazakhstan and the UK have signed a military cooperation plan. This was announced on June 6 on the official website of the Government of the Republic.

"The document was signed in London, where a delegation from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by Colonel Yerbola Kumarbekuly, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, arrived on an official visit," the statement said.

It is specified that during the meeting the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation. The main areas of cooperation are defined as peacekeeping activities, language training and training of Kazakhstani military personnel in higher educational institutions of Great Britain.

The document covers the period 2025-2026 and provides for the development of practical cooperation between the defense structures of the two states.

The day before, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia warns friendly countries against rapprochement with the United Kingdom and creating favorable conditions in their countries for organizations such as the British Council (considered undesirable in Russia). The ministry noted that London uses the positions of influence acquired during its alleged educational activities to interfere in the internal affairs of other states.
