Charges in the case of the death of a girl in a fountain in Tomarovka were brought against three people

In the Belgorod region, the investigation charged three local residents with providing unsafe services and abuse of authority, resulting in the death of a minor on the territory of a contact fountain in Tomarovka. This was announced on June 4 by the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the region.

It is clarified that the head of the Tomarovskaya territory department of the Yakovlevsky Municipal District and the former director of the Yakovlevsky Municipal District Improvement Bureau are accused of committing crimes under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of a person by negligence") and paragraph "c" of Part 3 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Abuse of official authority, with serious consequences").

The electrician who carried out the repair of the equipment was also charged under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of a person by negligence").

"The defendants were detained by investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia in accordance with Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, petitions were sent to the court for the choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention," the agency said in a statement.

The circumstances of the incident are currently being established. Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, presented a report on the investigation of the criminal case.

The death of a 13-year-old girl in the Belgorod region while playing in a contact fountain became known on June 3. Konstantin Kozmin, the father of the deceased, said that the children had previously complained of "pinching" from the water. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the region reported that a criminal case had been opened into the provision of services that did not meet safety requirements.

In Tomarovka, next to the fountain, local residents organized a spontaneous memorial in memory of the deceased girl. They bring chocolates, toys, and flowers to the scene.
