The number of self-employed in the Moscow region approached 1 million people
In the Moscow region, the number of self-employed citizens amounted to 916 thousand people. Since the beginning of 2025, it has increased by 71.5 thousand. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Investment, Industry and Science.
The online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya notes that the self-employed mostly work in construction, trade, education, and information and communication services.
Earlier, on June 3, it was reported that the number of professional income tax payers in Moscow exceeded 2 million people. This is more than 15% of the total number of self-employed registered in Russia. The tax on professional income is popular among citizens who work for themselves without involving employees. Its advantages include ease of registration, automated transfer of income information, as well as the absence of the need for tax reporting and the use of cash registers.
