Only five companies account for more than 80% of the Russian automotive market. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on June 4.

The largest market share, 28.5%, is occupied by AvtoVAZ. Chery Automobile is in second place with a score of 20.6%, while GWM Company closes the top three (13.7%). Geely Holding is in fourth place (12%), and Changan Automobile is in fifth (6.3%). These five groups of companies occupy 81.1% of the new passenger car market in Russia, the analyst estimates.

Tselikov noted that in May, the total decline in sales among the top five turned out to be significantly higher than the market (-32.3%), while the market as a whole fell by 28.3%. For the rest of the market participants (there are about a hundred of them), sales in late spring decreased by an average of only 3.2%.

As previously reported on this day, by the end of May 2025, 91.2 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 28.3% less than in the same month last year. Lada Granta became the leader of the car market with a 35% drop in sales.
