On May 30, Nizhny Novgorod hockey club Torpedo announced the appointment of Alexey Isakov as the head coach of the team. In the 2024/25 season, the specialist was the head of Torpedo-Gorky, which is the Torpedo farm club. Under his leadership, the team won the victory in the All-Russian Hockey League (VHL).
