Even well-prepared students can make mistakes that will affect the outcome. Experts from the Umskul educational platform for preparing for the Unified State Exam and the OGE told Izvestia on May 27 about common mistakes.

"Graduates often have difficulties filling out forms. For example: adding extra characters, illegible or small handwriting, entering two answers in one position of the form, skipping cells or positions of the form, incorrect transfer of answers," the experts noted.

Another flaw is the incorrect allocation of time during the exam. Students may not know how many minutes it takes to complete each task, transfer the answers to the form and check before passing.

In addition, students often panic and become fixated on difficult tasks. Faced with a difficult question, many people spend too much effort on it. This increases stress and reduces the time needed to complete other tasks.

According to Umskul, in 2025, in addition to the Russian language, students plan to take the Unified State Exam in specialized mathematics (49%), basic mathematics (45%), social studies (38%), biology (23%). At the same time, almost all of these disciplines turn out to be the most difficult to prepare: 20% of students have difficulties with the Russian language, 16% with specialized mathematics, 14% with social studies and 12% with biology. Experts emphasized that the key to successfully completing these subjects is understanding typical problem areas.

"In Russian, there are often errors in spelling (roots, suffixes, verb endings, participles, adverbs), punctuation (compound, compound sentences, punctuation analysis, homogeneous terms), composition (structural disorders, incorrect use of words, cases)," the experts clarified.

At the same time, in mathematics, students lose signs, incorrectly use trigonometric formulas, lose points for parameters, planimetry, stereometry, and the range of acceptable values in equations with roots and logarithms.

At the same time, in social studies, graduates substitute concepts, get confused in terms and definitions, give partial or incomplete answers, write examples instead of arguments and do not follow the logical coherence of the text.

In addition, the topics of evolution, biocenoses, sensory and endocrine systems cause difficulties in biology. Schoolchildren also confuse mitosis, meiosis, photosynthesis and a set of chromosomes.

According to the results of a study conducted by the educational platform, 34% of students study for three to four hours every day, combining preparation with school. This rhythm leads to overwork: 38% of the respondents feel severe burnout. In addition, 33% of students are afraid of not being able to complete all the tasks on the exam. 84% of schoolchildren believe that the result depends on high—quality training, 48% — on luck, 43% - on emotional state.

Umskul teachers recommend that you practice using forms when preparing for the Unified State Exam. This helps not only to work out the tasks themselves, but also to get used to the format of the design.

"During the handover, first solve the tasks in the draft — and only then transfer the answers to the form. This way you can avoid accidental mistakes and correct inaccuracies if you change your mind. Leave 10-15 minutes to check the form. Even if you are confident in your answers, when you think about it, you may notice typos or incorrectly transferred numbers," the experts advised.

In addition, you should solve simple tasks first, and then complex ones, or vice versa. The main thing is not to spend too much effort on one task, if you can first close what is easier.

Earlier, on May 22, teacher Victoria Podsukhina, head of the regional department of the educational company MAXIMUM Education, told Izvestia that if a graduate did not score the minimum points for obtaining a certificate — 24 out of 100 in Russian and 3 out of 5 in basic mathematics — then he would be given another chance on the reserve days of the main period from 16 until June 23rd. If the exam was not completed on these days, a new attempt can be made on the days of retakes on July 3 and 4, or as early as September, during an additional period.
