In the Belgorod region, a train ran over an explosive device, resulting in an explosion. This was announced on Sunday, May 25, by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

"According to preliminary information, the train ran over an explosive device placed under the rails," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

Gladkov said that as a result of the incident, an explosion occurred, and the contact network of the railway was damaged. The governor added that train traffic had been temporarily suspended.

As a result of the incident, no one was injured. The head of the Belgorod region added that more detailed information is being clarified.

On May 19, two young men were sentenced to up to 12 years for arson on the West Siberian Railway. At the time of the crime, the attackers were 17 and 20 years old. It was reported that the detainees agreed to set fire to railway equipment in one of the messengers in order to receive a certain amount of money.
