A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. It is noted that units of the Southern Group of Forces liberated the settlement of Romanovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, and in their area of responsibility the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 260 soldiers, two infantry fighting vehicles, two armored fighting vehicles. In addition, the units of the Center group of forces have improved their position along the front line.

"Air defense systems shot down four JDAM guided aerial bombs and four HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems manufactured by the United States, as well as 274 aircraft—type unmanned aerial vehicles, including 194 outside the area of a special military operation," the Defense Ministry said.

At the same time, the ministry said that the Russian military had damaged the infrastructure of military airfields, ammunition depots, production workshops, storage and preparation sites for the launch of unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as temporary deployment points of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 663 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 59,432 unmanned aerial vehicles, 607 anti-aircraft missile systems, 23,570 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,564 multiple rocket launchers, 25,266 field artillery guns and mortars, 35,949 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
