- The Governor of St. Petersburg told the deputies about the implementation of megaprojects
Almost all megaprojects are under implementation or active preparation, said Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg, presenting a report on the work of the city government to deputies of the Legislative Assembly.
The key object of the transport framework of the city is the Latitudinal highway of high—speed traffic. In December last year, its first stage was completed — the Vitebsk interchange was opened. A concession agreement has been signed for the construction of the next stages. Federal co-financing of the project in the amount of 90 billion rubles has been provided.
Another project is the Bolshoy Smolensky Bridge, which is being built ahead of schedule. The passage of ships will begin this year, and by the end of 2027 it is planned to start traffic on the bridge.
"In total, our agglomeration will receive five new bridges across the Neva River in the coming years. One of them is part of the second ring road in the city of Otradnoye. This is a very important road crossing for us. It will connect the shores over a wide area. It is almost 40 km between the Ladoga Bridge in Kirovsk and our cable—stayed Bridge," the governor said.
Also, according to him, the project of a high-speed railway line to Moscow is being promoted. St. Petersburg has allocated 30 billion rubles to co-finance the project. As part of a separate project, a new terminal, a second exit from the Ligovsky Prospekt metro station, and a street and road network will be built.
Beglov also mentioned the year-round seaside resort "St. Petersburg Marina", which is being implemented as part of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality". "The necessary documentation on the territory layout has already been developed. The first urban planning plans have been created. Infrastructure design is underway," the governor said.
Another project, The Island of Forts, is entering the final stage. Landscaping and renovation of road facilities are being completed, and the forts are being connected to the engineering infrastructure. Sommers catamarans have been built especially for Kronstadt, which will provide comfortable communication with the islands, Beglov added.
