The Kremlin pointed to Ukraine's conflict-oriented position.
The attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Russian territories indicate Kiev's position, focused on the continuation of the conflict. This was announced on May 6 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"The Kiev regime continues to demonstrate its approach, its position. This position is focused on the continuation of the <conflict>," he said at a briefing.
The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation stressed that, despite the ongoing attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on civilian infrastructure, the Russian military "is doing a glorious job." In addition, he noted the work of anti-missile and air defense systems.
He recalled that the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin on a temporary truce for the holidays is relevant. According to him, the relevant instructions have already been given by the Supreme Commander.
"Here I want to remind you of our position — the fire will cease, but if there is no reciprocity on the part of the Kiev regime and attempts to strike our positions or our facilities continue, an adequate response will be given immediately,— Peskov stressed.
He added that Moscow has not yet received statements from Kiev and the country's leadership about its readiness to join the festive truce.
