US President Donald Trump said he was not upset by the scandal over the leak of data on strikes in Yemen, and considered the incident an "insignificant glitch." This was reported on March 25 by NBC News.

The American leader indicated that he continues to trust his assistant for national security, Michael Waltz, despite the leak of information from the closed chat of officials in the Signal messenger.

"Michael Waltz has learned his lesson, and he's a good man," Trump said in an interview with a TV channel correspondent.

The US president also described the incident as "the only failure in two months" that "did not have a significant impact," and the strikes on Yemen themselves, in his assessment, were an absolute success.

The scandalous publication of the Atlantic magazine discussing strikes against the Houthis by the US administration became known earlier that day. Jeffrey Goldberg, the magazine's editor-in-chief, said that on March 11, he received a request to connect to Signal from a user under the nickname "Mike Waltz." Two days later, Goldberg received a notification about being added to a group chat called "Houthis small group." Then, on March 15, a user named "Pete Hegseth" posted a message that contained details of the upcoming strikes against the Houthis.

In turn, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth denied the information about the data leak, and the head of the American Department of Public Administration Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk, said that the second page of The Atlantic magazine was the best place where "you can hide a body" because no one ever reads it.
