- Colleagues expressed their condolences over the death of Izvestia correspondent Fedorchak.

Fellow journalists, war correspondents and friends of Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak, upon learning of his death in the line of duty in the special operation zone on March 24, leave words of sorrow and condolences to their loved ones on social networks, recall how they worked or were friends together, and tell what a professional and man he was.
Evgeny Nipot, correspondent of the Rossiya 24 TV channel, expressed his condolences over Fedorchak's death. He spoke about both the professional and personal qualities of the deceased.
"I found out this news right before the broadcast. Sanya and I had known each other for a little over a month. We worked together in the Kursk region. I remember him as a real, brave patriot and a man who is just very nice and comfortable to be around," said Nipot.
Izvestia correspondent Denis Kulaga told us what Fedorchak was like. He noted the sincere tact of the young journalist.
"Our young colleague Sasha Fedorchak died... a young, active and cheerful guy. <...> The first thing he was worried about was not to interfere with our team with his filming. <...> A young, promising and cheerful journalist died. An attentive and sensitive friend died," Kulaga said.
Vladimir Tyulin, General Director of Izvestia, called Fedorchak's death a terrible loss.
"Today's death of Alexander Fedorchak is another terrible loss for our team. Sasha was a young, talented journalist who had many more stories, many achievements, and a lifetime ahead of him. It's especially sad when such young guys die who didn't have time to do so much," he said.
As Tyulin noted, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), despite the agreements, continue targeted attacks on journalists who are doing their job and doing their duty.
"But we are sure that those who did this will soon be justly punished. For our part, we will do everything for this. Our entire team expresses its deep condolences to Alexander Fedorchak's family and friends and grieves with them," Tyulin added.
The death of Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak became known earlier that day. According to preliminary data, he died as a result of an artillery strike from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The journalist worked on the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) and the Kharkiv region.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the death of Alexander Fedorchak in the area of a special operation to protect Donbass is a new crime by the Ukrainian leadership against freedom of speech, and it will not be forgotten.
