- In Rostov-on-Don, windows of 14 residential buildings were damaged as a result of a UAV attack
In Rostov, windows and window frames in 14 apartment buildings were damaged as a result of an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was reported on February 8 by acting governor Yuri Slyusar.
"On the site are working calculations of rescuers, buses for heating evacuated residents have also arrived. Lyceum № 20 named after V. P. Polyanichko has been prepared for the deployment of a temporary accommodation point and catering for people," he wrote in his Telegram-channel.
Slyusar also informed that during daylight hours the specialists will start restoration works: replacement of the damaged gas pipe in one of the houses and temporary closing of the damaged window openings with film.
In addition, he said that the administration of Rostov-on-Don is planning to hold an unscheduled meeting of the emergency commission.
"Municipal commissions will start work on fixing the damage caused today," he concluded.
On this day in the Rostov region, air defense (air defense) and electronic warfare (REB) means repelled an aerial attack by UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). According to Slyusar, objects on the ground were damaged as a result of the fall of the drones, as well as their debris.
The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
