Lieutenant Ivan Kravtsov was carrying out the task of delivering ammunition to Russian servicemen to the line of contact and came under fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). On Friday, February 7, the Russian Defense Ministry told about the exploits of Russian servicemen in the zone of the special military operation (SMO).

Kravtsov managed to reach the right point under fire and unloaded ammunition, after which he found two severely wounded Russian servicemen nearby. The lieutenant transported them on his vehicle to a safe place, rendered first aid and headed to a field hospital.

On the way, the vehicle was attacked by a Ukrainian FPV drone, but it was neutralized by a radio electronic warfare (REB) station inside the transport. The wounded were successfully delivered to the hospital for further treatment.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the brave actions of Junior Sergeant Sergei Korsakov, who commanded a squad at the front line. In anticipation of an AFU attack, Korsakov gave orders to place flank observation posts on the territory and competently identified firing points for the personnel.

Ukrainian intelligence discovered the position of Russian servicemen. The AFU launched a massive artillery strike, and two servicemen were seriously wounded in a neighboring unit. Korsakov ordered the evacuation of the wounded and led the group himself.

While moving along the route, Korsakov spotted an AFU drone. The sergeant quickly took aim and shot down the drone. The wounded were successfully evacuated, and Korsakov returned to continuing combat operations.

Earlier, on February 7, the agency reported that Guards Private Pavel Laptev as part of an assault group participated in the capture of an AFU stronghold despite being wounded in combat.

Before that, on Thursday, February 6, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Guards Sergeant Ilmir Khairullin covered the attack of the assault units, which allowed Russian troops to break through the AFU defenses and gain a foothold on the new borders.

The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
