Russia sends financial aid to Abkhazia for socio-economic development
Russia has sent financial support to Abkhazia for the purposes of socio-economic development of the republic. This was announced on February 6 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Finance on its official website.
It is reported that such a decision was taken in accordance with the agreement between Russia and Abkhazia, as well as agreements reached following a meeting between Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and Abkhazian politician Badra Gunba.
During the meeting held on February 5, the officials discussed issues of further cooperation between Russia and Abkhazia, continuation of implementation of joint projects, as well as support for state employees.
Earlier, on January 30, Counselor of the Embassy of Abkhazia in Russia Kan Tania pointed out that the people of Abkhazia choose to be together with Russia, the states are united by language, culture, history and ruble.
Last December, acting head of the Abkhazian Finance Ministry Vladimir Delba said that financial assistance to Abkhazia from Russia will amount to 5.2 billion rubles in 2025. According to Delba, most of these funds will be directed to socio-economic development of the republic.
Presidential elections inAbkhazia will be held in the republic on February 15. This year the Central Election Commission will open two polling stations in Russia and one in Turkey.
