Prices for eggs and butter may fall in Russia
Prices for hen's eggs and butter may fall in Russia after these products have been included in the list of socially important goods for which producers do not have to pay remuneration to retailers.
The size of the sales bonus was up to 5% of the cost of products. Experts expressed the opinion that the abolition of payment will help to reduce some of the supply costs.
According to Alexei Voronin, director of the analytical department of the National Union of Milk Producers (Soyuzmoloko), this decision is reasonable on the part of the government in the conditions of product production.
"Despite the fact that the price of goods is not directly affected, it may contribute to the overall reduction of the burden on suppliers," he added.
Earlier, on February 3, the press service of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) reported that the government approved new requirements for businesses developed by the body. It was noted that retail chains are prohibited from charging remuneration, included in the contract price, from suppliers of butter and chicken eggs.
