Emergencies Ministry pyrotechnicians have defused more than 1.9 thousand munitions in Kursk region for half a year

In Kursk region, pyrotechnicians of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have disarmed and destroyed more than 1.9 thousand munitions for six months. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia on February 6.

"The other day the combined pyrotechnic squad of the department neutralized a missile ATACMS. The munition was taken out and destroyed at the range," - stated in the message of the Department in Telegram-channel.

It is noted that since August 2024 pyrotechnics of the Ministry of Emergency Situations about 250 times involved in the neutralization of explosive objects in the Kursk region, specified "Gazeta.Ru". According to a specialist of the combined pyrotechnic squad of the Russian Emergencies Ministry with the call sign Yeager, in the course of work they have to face different types of ammunition.

"Among them are FPV drones, attack drones, UAV drops, missile warheads, submunitions and much more," he said.

Earlier, on December 24, 2024, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, said that in the first eight months of 2024, the pyrotechnic squads of the department surveyed more than 300 hectares of terrain on the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, where about 5,000 munitions were found and neutralized.
