Passenger car production in Russia grew by 39% over the year
In 2024, 756 thousand passenger cars were produced in Russia. This is 39.2% more than a year earlier, according to Rosstat data.
At the end of December last year, 79.6 thousand cars rolled off the assembly lines, the growth amounted to 43.4% year-on-year, but this result was 1% worse than in November 2024.
Last year's production of trucks amounted to 194 thousand units, which is 8.2% more than in 2023. Buses weighing more than 5 tons were produced 1.8 thousand units (+12.5%), those weighing not more than 5 tons - 1.4 thousand units (-13.9%).
In addition, in 2024, Russia produced 18.3 thousand internal combustion engines, an increase of 12.2% year-on-year.
February 4, it was reported that the average price of a new car in Russia in January increased by 5.7% compared to December, to 3.94 million rubles. In 12 regions of Russia (Tatarstan, Moscow, Voronezh region, etc.) the average price increased, while in 10 regions, such as Krasnoyarsk region, Ulyanovsk region and Stavropol region, recorded a decrease.
