Russian Armed Forces foil AFU attempt to attack northern Astrakhan Oblast

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have attempted to attack the north of Astrakhan Region. This was reported by the Administration of the municipal formation "Akhtubinsky district" on February 6.

"Tonight the AFU again attempted to attack the north of the Astrakhan region. Power structures worked normally," - informed the press service in the Telegram-channel of the organization.

According to preliminary information, there are no casualties or damage.

Cruise missiles "Ruta" and "Peklo" could be used in a large-scale raid on our territory.

Earlier, on February 3, the governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin reported that at night the AFU attacked with drones the objects located on the territory of the region, resulting in a fire. As Babushkin pointed out, there were no casualties as a result of the incident.

The Ukrainian military is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by militants.
