Fighters of the "West" group demonstrated the combat operation of the Cub UAV

On February 6, soldiers of the Zapad group demonstrated to Izvestiya the combat operation of the Kub unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which American experts have already dubbed the nightmare of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The servicemen first installed the battery, then prepared the warhead weighing 4 kg. The warhead with a special explosive, one and a half times more powerful than TNT. The drone itself is made of plywood and fiberglass, it has no camera and flies according to set parameters.

"The silhouette of the drone reminds everyone of the famous "Geranium", but only in miniature. Weighs "Cube" somewhere between 7-8 kg. And its wingspan is 120 centimeters," said Izvestia correspondent Dmitry Zimenkin.

"Cube" was placed on the so-called "catapult", and it flew westward with the sound of a trimmer. As the fighters reported, the accuracy of hits "Cube" almost 99%.

"The range of flight is 50 kilometers. It is able to destroy targets by coordinates: on low-armored vehicles, on infantry is suitable, because there is a charge of fragmentation-fragmentation goes," - commented the head of the calculation of the UAV "Kub" of the group of troops "West" under the call sign Hades.

Meanwhile, in the dugout, operators monitored the drone's flight and its destruction of an AFU mortar point. The fighters immediately began to prepare the next launch, the new target being a stronghold in the Svatovo-Kupyansk direction. Having successfully bypassed all electronic warfare systems (REB), the drone of the Western grouping accurately reached the target.

It is specified that soon on the front should appear also "Kub-SM", a promising reconnaissance and strike complex, the data of which is still kept secret. It will be presented for the first time at the international defense industry exhibition in Abu Dhabi and promises to be a sensation of the February military forum.

Earlier, on January 9, it was reported that Rostec State Corporation sent a batch of new ground drones "Depesha" with a payload capacity of up to 200 kg to the Russian troops. It is reported that the design of "Depesha" allows mounting various equipment on it. Thanks to this, the platform can be used for a wide range of tasks. It is able to quickly deliver to the front line cargo weighing up to 200 kg.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
