Interpol continues to unilaterally terminate the international search for accused and convicted persons in Russia, who are wanted by law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation. This was reported on February 5 by the deputy head of the main department of international legal cooperation - head of the organizational and legal department of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation Sergey Plokhov.

"Interpol still unilaterally terminates the international search for accused and convicted persons wanted by Russian law enforcement agencies," Plokhov said at the "Infoforum-2025," broadcast on the forum's website.

He added that the basis for removing information from the organization's records are appeals of the wanted and their lawyers to the commission for file control. According to him, such appeals also concern those defendants who committed crimes with the help of IT-technologies. Plokhov pointed out that there are many such cases.

According to him, in 2024, 46 requests for legal assistance in criminal cases on crimes in the field of information and communication technologies were sent to the U.S. Department of Justice, but there was no response on execution. Plokhov specified that at the moment about 200 requests for legal assistance in criminal cases remain unfulfilled, 150 of which are from the ICT sphere.

Earlier, on January 30, it became known about the extradition to Russia of Aru Baghdasaryan, accused of organizing illegal migration, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, the man and a group of persons organized illegal migration of foreigners through Russia until 2021, including he facilitated the migration of Indian citizens to Mexico by illegal passage through the territory of the Russian Federation.
