The first deputy chairman of the State Duma Energy Committee, Pavel Zavalny, has expressed the opinion that Europe will lose from the breakup of energy ties with Russia.

This is how the parliamentarian assessed the call of Polish President Andrzej Duda to dismantle Nord Streams.

"This is the ultimate manifestation of Russophobia, and nothing more. Europe is trying to fence us off with dragon's teeth, fences, to break economic ties in energy issues, and it will only lose from this. This is what Europe's enemies want, in fact, internal enemies," Zavalny said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru on Tuesday, January 28.

According to him, these Russophobes, instead of living peacefully and developing in the interests of both Europe and Russia, interrupt all ties, and as a result, Europe itself will suffer.

According to the deputy, they hope in vain that they will be saved by the world market, but "they will not be competitive neither in relation to America, nor in relation to the new centers of development, the same China, India" and Russia, so they choose a bad future for their countries.

Earlier, on January 27, Polish leader Andrzej Duda called for the dismantling of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. He said that the restoration of Russian gas supplies through them allegedly "poses a threat" to European countries in terms of energy dependence, writes the website kp.ru. He also specified that it is worth doing so to spare Germany from the temptation to restore the supply of Russian energy carrier, notes 360.ru.

In addition, Duda said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that these gas pipelines pose a huge threat to Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, as well as other Central European countries, RT reported.

In January, Bundestag deputy Sevim Dagdelen called on the FRG to resume operation of Nord Stream and establish imports of Russian oil to the Schwedt refinery, recalls Moscow 24. She explained that this must be done to return competitive energy prices, and this "Madness must be stopped".
