Carlsen lost to a 14-year-old Russian in an online chess tournament

Russian chess player David Akhmedov defeated the 16th world chess champion, Norway's Magnus Carlsen in the Title Tuesday online tournament.
The 14-year-old Russian played white and beat Carlsen in the second round.
Magnus Carlsen was the world chess champion from 2013 to 2023. He later refused to defend his title and now the champion is Gukesh Dommaraju of India. Carlsen's rating at the moment is 2831.
Earlier, on January 14, it became known that nine-year-old Russian chess player Roman Shogdzhiev set a world record, becoming the youngest international master. The achievement was recorded in December 2024 at the RadnickiChess IM tournament in Belgrade, where he scored seven out of nine possible points, losing only to the winner Aut Atalik.
