Russians spent more than 4 billion roubles on anti-stress toys last year. This was reported to Izvestia by analysts of the Moneyplace service (part of the Contur ecosystem).

At the end of 2024, they conducted a study of sales of means to combat stress, which are now presented on marketplaces. According to the analysts, to combat negative emotions, sellers mainly offer Russians food supplements and anti-stress toys that can be hugged or crumpled in the hands.

According to the study, last year the total sales of anti-stress toys on marketplaces amounted to 4.4 billion rubles, which is 81% higher than in 2023 and 126% higher than in 2022.

"Most often Russians bought soft toys in the form of characters (goose, duck) on marketplaces. Taba paws (squishies) also became an undeniable hit. Pop-its have not lost their popularity - they have gone through several reincarnations, also now popular electronic versions of "poke" (tactile-sensory toys). Less popular are slimes, spinners, fidgets and tamagotchi," said analyst Anastasia Romanova.

If we talk about dietary supplements, they were sold on marketplaces for a total of 2 billion rubles, which is 67% higher than in 2023 and 238% higher than in 2022.

Earlier, on October 4, 2024, psychologist and Gestalt therapist Elena Masolova told Izvestia that anti-stress toys can be useful when working with worries, but only as an auxiliary element. Of course, they cannot replace psychological work with a stressful situation, but they can help and give an opportunity to switch, the expert added.
