Rospotrebnadzor reported the deaths of 17 people due to an unknown infection in India

In India, 17 people died from an unknown infection. This was reported in the press service of Rospotrebnadzor on January 28.
"In Rospotrebnadzor took control of information about cases of disease of unknown etymology in the Republic of India", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the Department.
It is specified that since December 2024 in the village Badhaal of the state of Jammu and Kashmir registered 38 cases of the disease, 17 of which were fatal.
According to the agency, the said cases were detected in members of three families. Among the symptoms, fever, nausea, weakness were recorded and brain edema was also noted in the deceased. Studies have shown that the cause of the disease is exposure to toxins, while the specific one has not yet been established.
On the eve of the British health agency (UKHSA) reported the discovery of a rare case of human infection with bird flu in the UK. It was specified that a resident of the county of West Midlands caught influenza A(H5N1) as a result of prolonged contact with infected birds on the farm.
