The existing stereotype about Epiphany frosts is not always justified, in recent years it has been mostly warm. So, this year on January 19 in Moscow there will be no frosts. This was stated by Roman Vilfand, scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand on January 16 during a press conference at the Izvestia IEC.

"By definition, the second half of January throughout our country is the coldest period, low temperatures are found. <...> This year there will be no frost in almost the entire European part of Russia," he noted.

So, in Moscow at night will be from -3 to 0 degrees, and during the day - from zero to +2.

The Russian Orthodox Church celebrates the Epiphany on January 19. On the night of Epiphany many believers traditionally dip in the ice-hole.
