Former U.S. presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush Jr. and Barack Obama will not attend the inaugural dinner after Donald Trump is sworn in on January 20. This was reported by NBC News on January 16, citing sources.

According to the channel, Clinton and Obama were invited to the event, but decided not to participate. An invitation to the dinner was also sent to former U.S. first lady Hillary Clinton, but she also does not plan to attend. Bush's representatives said they were not sure if he had received the invitation.

At the same time, all three presidents, according to their representatives, will attend Trump's swearing-in ceremony, which will take place before the inaugural dinner.

Earlier, on January 14, The Guardian reported that former first lady Michelle Obama will not attend Trump' s upcoming inauguration. The media refers to official data from her office. It is noted that the information was provided on the factual basis, without any explanation for her upcoming absence at the event in the Capitol.

The inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of the United States will be held on January 20, 2025.

The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5, 2024. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the Republican, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th president of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
