- The court demanded from the Russian citizen to pay almost 1.4 million rubles for the purchased car.
In Russia, a court has demanded that a Russian citizen pay an additional 1.37 million rubles for a Chinese car he bought. The Federal Customs Service (FCS) revealed the fact of underestimating the value of the car imported into the country, reports Quto.ru on January 15.
Initially, the FCS demanded to pay an additional Br734.5 thousand, but the declarant decided to use his legal right to challenge the adjustment through the court. While the trial lasted, penalties were accrued on this amount, and eventually it grew to Br1.37 million. The judge ruled that it would have to be paid in full.
This situation could arise because the Russian purchased a car that was imported into the Russian Federation on a fake invoice (an accompanying document that serves as a basis for payment of the seller's services by the buyer), in which the value of the car was underestimated. Unofficial dealers imported and then sold such cars at prices much lower than in official car dealerships.
On the eve of the vice-president of the International Union of Lawyers Olga Vlasova named the signs indicating an unscrupulous seller or supplier of cars. The lawyer recommended to pay attention to reviews when choosing a vehicle, noting that many clients neglect this.
