The picture "Finist. The first bogatyr" became the best in the past weekend, collecting more than 300 million rubles. This was told to "Izvestia" on January 13, General Director of "NMG Kinoprokat" Vadim Smirnov.
"This 300 million for the second weekend is more than a third of all the money brought to the box office of cinemas this weekend. This is a very good indicator, especially considering that we have a competing picture, also very strong and also quite popular," said Smirnov.
He pointed out that for the first weekend, which fell on New Year's holidays, the interest of viewers to the picture was slightly higher and it is natural - in the weekend, falling on holidays, attendance at cinemas is always very large.
General Director of "NMG Kinoprokat" noted that the audience took the movie "Finist. The First Bogatyr" well, for the first two weeks of distribution collected more than 2.2 billion rubles, so the picture can be considered another successful part of the franchise about the "Last Bogatyr". The number of viewers approached the mark of 5 million, on the opening weekend there were 10 thousand sessions per day.
"Finist. The first bogatyr" surpassed the previous films in the number of views, and Smirnov believes that this is due, first, due to the progress of cinematographic art, because special effects, makeup, costumes and props have reached a new level and can compete in quality with the samples of foreign cinema. Secondly, the plot of the movie has become more "advanced and sophisticated", it has many more characters - both some of the main and minor.
The head of NMG Kinoprokat noted: people share in their reviews that they liked the characters. Well remembered even those characters who appear on the screen for two or three minutes. In addition, viewers are satisfied with the humor and the selection of actors, such as Kirill Zaitsev, who plays Finist, and Yulia Peresild, who embodied the image of Baba Yaga.
Smirnov expects that "Finist. The First Bogatyr" will remain popular at the box office until at least the middle or even the second half of February. In addition, some viewers watched the picture on the big screen for the second time. Those people who were away on New Year's vacation and have not yet gone to the movies will make their contribution to the attendance.
