Russian army strikes military airfields and warehouses of the AFU

The Russian military has hit military airfields, ammunition depots and drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Ukraine. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 24.

"Operational-tactical aviation, strike drones, missile troops and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation hit the infrastructure of military airfields, ammunition depots and drones, as well as accumulations of enemy manpower and military equipment in 146 areas," the ministry said in a statement.

Air defense means (air defense) shot down four shells of the US HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) and 65 Ukrainian drones.

In addition, Russian units of the Southern Group of Forces defeated five AFU brigades near the settlements of Serebryanka, Seversk, Druzhkovka, Konstantinovka, Chasov Yar and Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR).

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that servicemen of the "West" group of forces using Lancet barrage munitions destroyed military equipment and disrupted the rotation of AFU fighters in one of the directions of the special military operation (SMO). Objective control of the strikes was carried out by ZALA drone operators. The Lancet calculations have already accounted for more than 150 targets hit.

The day before, on December 23, the ministry reported that drone operators of the "North" group of troops destroyed reconnaissance d rones of the Ukrainian army. Such work is carried out by the Russian military around the clock.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
