The cause of depressurization of the cabin of Sukhoi Superjet 100, flying from St. Petersburg to Moscow, was an unclosed hatch. A source familiar with the situation told Izvestia on Friday, December 13.

The incident occurred on Friday morning. The crew of the Rossiya Airlines plane decided to return to St. Petersburg's Pulkovo airport after depressurization began. The landing was made successfully.

According to the interlocutor, the personnel on the ground did not close the hatch. This fact was not noticed by the crew during the pre-flight inspection. As a result, the leakiness of the airplane was discovered already during the flight.

Earlier in the day "Izvestia" in the press service of the airline "Russia" told that the landing was made at 8:22. No emergency situation was declared at the airport, and no information about casualties was given.
