The Ukrainian army command has attempted to reinforce the grouping near the village of Terny in the Donetsk People's Republic by sending there a platoon of assault troops from among convicts. This was reported by military expert Andriy Marochko on Thursday, November 21.

"The arrival of a platoon of Ukrainian militants from among convicted persons has been noted in the Terny area," he told TASS, citing his own sources.

According to Marochko, the servicemen in this assault unit signed a contract with the Ukrainian Defense Ministry and were trained by Western instructors at one of the Ukrainian training grounds.

Those who have arrived are now undergoing combat alignment with other units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the line of contact, he pointed out.

Earlier, on November 19, Marochko said that a new firing bag for Ukraine's armed formations was being formed in the Svatovsko-Kremeni section. He specified that the advance of the Russian army in Terny and northeast of Torskoye creates a serious threat of encirclement of the Ukrainian grouping east of Yampolovka.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
