Russia has developed a prototype of a 50-qubit quantum computer
The Lebedev Physical Institute together with a number of other domestic research organizations have created a prototype of a 50-qubit quantum computer. Gennady Krasnikov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), told Izvestia.
According to the scientist, the development will be shown to the general public at the 10th Microelectronics Forum, which will be held from September 23 to 28 on the federal territory "Sirius".
"Both organizers and participants are carefully preparing for this event. A whole range of world-class domestic achievements will be presented. For example, we will show a prototype of a 50-qubit quantum computer on an ionic platform," Krasnikov said.
He added that the forum will also present domestic developments in the field of ultra-pure materials, electronic engineering, trusted technologies, in the creation of new, "non-Fonneiman" computing architectures. Their implementation will accelerate the processing of large amounts of data and artificial intelligence systems.
At the same time, as the head of the Russian Academy of Sciences noted, many teams do not reveal their maps in advance. Therefore, a lot of sensations are expected at the forum.
