Sergey Bezrukov will appear as an immortal magician, and Mikita Voronov will transform into "I don't know what". The audience will see all this in the large-scale fairy-tale fantasy "Chudo-Yudo". The film will be released on big screens on October 22. On October 13, the main cast members personally presented the film at the October Cinema in Moscow. Izvestia was among the first to watch it and tells us what to expect from this story and why sometimes love is stronger than a fairy tale.

A miracle of character

The premiere evening brought together many representatives of the Russian film industry in October. The film's star-studded team appeared on the red carpet, including producer Sergei Selyanov, actors Sergei Bezrukov and Victoria Isakova, who had just celebrated her 50th birthday.

Fantasy completely rethinks the plot of Russian folk tales and introduces the viewer to a completely new magical world. Magicians live in it: the mysterious forest sorceress Bolotnitsa, played by Victoria Isakova, and the strict Montenegrin performed by Sergei Bezrukov. The actor admitted to Izvestia that working on this image fulfilled his long—held dream of being funny on the movie screen.

— I have a lot of comedic work in the theater, but unfortunately not in the cinema. Therefore, I was very pleased when Sergey Selyanov called and offered to read the script of the film "Miracle Yudo". I liked it very much. I realized that I got a chance to be a funny, funny, fabulous character and try out a character role. There have been no such proposals for more than ten years. I think an actor should have self-irony. This is an integral part of the profession. Don't take yourself too seriously. A fairy tale just makes it possible to turn it on and use those colors that are impossible in another movie," said Sergey Bezrukov.

Despite the stellar acting duo, the daughter of the magicians, Otrada, turns out to be in the center of the plot. In the course of the action, Sofia Lopunova's wayward heroine embarks on a journey into the human world, undergoes a large-scale transformation and realizes that sometimes love is more important than a fairy tale. On this path, she is accompanied by an unprecedented beast, the Miracle Yudo. He can transform into a fish, a bird, a wolf, or a human. In general, into any animal, if the situation or the mistress of the Swamp requires it. Mikita Voronov embodied this role on the screen.

— We have a lot of adventures and funny moments in the film. But still, the most important thing happens in the soul of the characters. What they feel and what choices they make is the most important adventure," said the film's director, Serik Beiseu.

It is interesting for the viewer to watch not only the main characters. The character of Rinal Mukhametov, for example, brings to the picture a mood atypical for the genre, which is more typical of the Twilight movie saga or Luc Besson's Dracula.

— There is a fantasy component to "Chudo-Yudo", not just fabulousness. There is some kind of dark world there: werewolves, vampirism. Something is not quite familiar," actor Sergei Epishev told Izvestia.

His character is the Montenegrin butler and, in a sense, the faithful companion of the immortal magician. Thanks to this character, the viewer learns more about the atmosphere of the powerful sorcerer's house and about himself.

The creators did not limit themselves exclusively to the love theme and raised the eternal question of fathers and children in the film. At the beginning of the story, Otrada's parents are not ready to accept their daughter's growing up. The inevitable is most difficult for Montenegro. But as the action progresses, he realizes how important freedom of choice is to Joy—and it's not just about choosing a groom.

— Parental love is never enough. It's either there or it's not there. My hero loves his daughter very much. He doesn't want her to make the mistakes her parents make. But everything will end well," Bezrukov assured.

Reflections on first love and relationships with parents lead viewers to another topic.: is it better to be immortal or alive? After all, those who experience real feelings are capable of losing their heads from love and are ready to fight for it, they know what happiness is. And it happens not only in a fairy tale.

The nature of the magical world

The scope of the project is already clear from the trailer. In the best fairy-tale traditions, the painting surprises with the scale of the scenery. They also help to emphasize the contrast between the world of humans and magicians. The first ones have light, bright colors. While the monastery of Chernogor is a mysterious dark tower. It adds a special Gothic touch.

— The scenery is so fabulous that it doesn't seem like anything needs to be played. They are the ones who create the most wonderful thing in this story. You're not trying to portray something on the green, but you enter a fabulous space and exist there," Yepishev emphasized.

There are a lot of full-scale scenes in the project. The filming geography includes not only Moscow and the Leningrad Region, but also the Khibiny Mountains on the Kola Peninsula.

— When you stand among rocks that are billions of years old, look into the distance and see mountains that are also billions of years old, it gives rise to real, genuine emotions. It is always a special pleasure for an artist to shoot on location. Then nature tells you what to do," Bezrukov said.

Very soon, the film will be presented in all cinemas in Russia. It will be possible to see fantasy and immerse yourself in the story of love and miracle on the big screen from October 22.
