During a working meeting in the Kremlin on September 14, Vladimir Putin called on the head of the region, Alexander Dronov, to immediately pay attention to updating the school fund, in which every second building requires major repairs.

The Governor of the Novgorod Region reported on the work of the special economic zone established in 2021. And since June of this year, the "Healthy Family" project has been launched — in three months, about 12 thousand residents were able to undergo an examination thanks to visiting teams. To improve the quality and level of healthcare in the region, it is also necessary to support staff. "The conditions are as follows: a medical worker has been working in a healthcare facility for seven years, after that he has the right to privatize housing, and it remains with him," said Dronov. The measures are working: since 2025, 353 specialists have chosen this region for their activities.

The President focused on one of the most painful points of the social sphere of the region — the state of educational institutions. Vladimir Putin drew the governor's attention to the fact that more than half of school buildings require immediate renovation, and called for the situation to be brought under strict personal control. "Over 54% need major repairs. It's a challenge after all," Vladimir Putin stressed. In parallel with the renovation of the social infrastructure, the Novgorod Region is conducting a large-scale restoration of cultural heritage sites.
