The drone found at the airport of Germany remained unnoticed for more than four hours
A drone loaded with explosives found at Leipzig/Halle airport was there unnoticed for more than four hours. The Bild newspaper writes about this on August 7.
The investigators established this fact by examining the video recordings from the airport. The footage shows that the drone appeared next to the Ukrainian Antonov cargo plane at 19:30 (20:30 Moscow time) on August 5. It was only at 23:42 that the bus driver noticed him. It is noted that the drone was flying at a low altitude and the man knocked it down with a kick.
The drone, according to journalists, was equipped with a reset device, and there were two SIM cards inside it. Currently, investigators are checking the version that one of them was used for navigation, and the second could have been designed to activate a Semtex-type explosive device. It was in an empty tin can attached to the drone.
In turn, Der Spiegel magazine added that one of the drone's parts was also found on the wing of one of the Antonov aircraft. This may indicate that the UAV was either directly above the aircraft at some point, or collided with it.
The Bild newspaper reported on August 5 that a drone with a fuse was found on the territory of the Leipzig/Halle airport in Germany. The drone was lying next to a Ukrainian cargo plane. Mine clearance specialists arrived at the site. The German police found that the drone collided with a DHL cargo plane in the airspace at an altitude of about 400 m. After the collision, the UAV fell to the ground.
On August 6, the WDR TV channel, citing a police report, reported that a Ukrainian Antonov cargo plane, next to which a drone was found at the airport, was carrying ammunition. It was loaded with military cargo, which, presumably, had been delivered to Leipzig from France shortly before and was planned to be sent further.
