Almost 400 agreements are being prepared to be signed at the WEF

The development of the Far East is progressing ahead of schedule: the volume of attracted investments has already crossed the threshold and reached 6.5 trillion rubles. Local industry and construction are also growing 1.5 times faster than the national average. At a working meeting in the Kremlin on August 6, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev told Vladimir Putin about preparations for the 11th Eastern Economic Forum and invited the president to personally launch the work of several industrial giants at once, from the Amur gas Chemical Complex to new copper plants.

What was discussed at the meeting

The Far East was noticeably ahead of schedule in terms of investments: instead of the planned 5.8 trillion rubles, 6.5 trillion rubles were attracted to the region's economy. By 2030, they expect to reach 12 trillion rubles. At the upcoming WEF-2026, it is planned to sign 380 agreements for another 6.5 trillion. At the same time, a special administrative region on Russian Island is being developed: assets of 138 companies worth 6.2 trillion were transferred there, and tax revenues amounted to 86 billion rubles.

The dynamics of the main indicators of the development of the Far East exceeds the average Russian pace, said Yuri Trutnev. The region is 1.5 times ahead of the average in construction, 20% ahead in industrial production, and 1.8 times ahead in manufacturing.

A record 3.6 trillion rubles are allocated for master plans of 25 Far Eastern cities - these projects will improve the lives of 4.2 million people, that is, more than half of the region's population. Almost half of the financing has been secured: 233 planned facilities worth 83 billion rubles have been built, and another 384 are in operation. The region is developing science and helping the front: the local Patriotic Trade union has supplied over 600,000 products to the combat zone.

Scientists are willing to return from abroad to work at the scientific center on Russian Island, and Vladimir Putin gladly agreed to meet with them: "If that happens, include it in the plan." In addition, Yuri Trutnev asked the president to personally participate in the launch of new Far Eastern enterprises, including the Amur Gas Chemical Complex, Udokan Copper, the Nakhodka Fertilizer Plant and the sinking of the Severomuisk tunnel.
