The court arrested for two months the accused of preparing a terrorist attack in Pyatigorsk.

The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the accused of preparing a terrorist attack at the prosecutor's office in Pyatigorsk. This was reported on August 3 in the Leninsky District Court of Stavropol.

According to investigators, the man, being a supporter of an international terrorist organization banned in Russia, purchased components for the manufacture of an improvised explosive device. It is assumed that his goal was to commit an explosion in the building of the prosecutor's office of Pyatigorsk.

"The Leninsky District Court of Stavropol has chosen a preventive measure for the accused in the form of detention for a period of 2 months, that is, until September 28, 2026," the statement said.

On the same day, it became known that employees of the Federal Security Service had stopped preparations for a terrorist attack at the prosecutor's office in Pyatigorsk. A citizen of one of the countries of the Central Asian region, born in 2001, a supporter of an international terrorist organization banned in Russia, was detained.

The published video shows the stages of the operation: first, special services officers observe the suspect in the city, then they detain him in the private sector on a country road. The man had two packages with him.
