- The expert pointed out that SpaceX ignored the use of Starlink for strikes against Russia
SpaceX deliberately ignores the use of Starlink terminals by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to launch drone strikes deep inside Russia. This was announced on July 31 by Dmitry Kuzyakin, an expert in the field of unmanned aviation, General designer of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions.
"In some countries, the network is blocked altogether, such as in China or Russia. However, the company's bans are easily circumvented: if the user terminal informs the system that it is located, for example, in Germany, but actually operates near Voronezh, the Starlink network can continue servicing," he told TASS.
The expert said that the network is able to detect data inconsistencies and stop transmitting information, but the SpaceX management, according to him, ignores the problem. Kuzyakin believes that such a policy puts the satellites of American entrepreneur Elon Musk in the category of legitimate military targets, since the company, as he claims, ensures the operation of terminals used for attacks.
The expert also said that the Central Design Bureau has dozens of captured Ukrainian drones with Starlink terminals, whose control boards have built-in shunts for coordinate substitution.
On July 29, Kuzyakin reported that the Russian Wave Dome Garant jamming system was blocking communication between the space satellite and the Starlink ground terminal. According to him, this system performs radio-electronic effects using a narrowly focused high-frequency beam, which causes critical overload on the receiving antennas of spacecraft.
