In the US state of New Jersey, environmental activist John Kauterman discovered a bottle with a message that was written 53 years ago while cleaning in the swamps. This was reported by the portal NJ.com .

Inside the bottle was a note dated August 20, 1973, written by nine-year-old Laurie Blair Brown. In the text, the girl claimed that a gang of sponge catchers was forcing her to dive into the waters with sharks, and asked her to inform her family about this, specifying her home address.

Kauterman regarded the content as a childish prank, but decided to track down the sender. During the search, an ecologist discovered Lori Brown's obituary: the woman died in 2017 at the age of 52.

After a while, the man managed to contact Blair Brown's older sister, Allison Spencer. The woman explained that she had personally written this text at the dictation of her younger sister during a family vacation.

"She was a creative person with a great sense of humor and was sure that the bottle would be found," Spencer said.

Science fiction writer Paul Edwards from Chester reported on June 7 that the UK Post had delivered to him an issue of a parenting magazine 19 years late. He added humorously that by the time the magazine was delivered, his children had already grown up and left their parents' home.
