Yampolskaya declared the impossibility of abolishing Russian science

There can be no cancellation of Russian science at the international level, as it has the highest level of quality. This was announced on July 23 by Elena Yampolskaya, Adviser to the President of Russia.

"It is absolutely obvious that there simply cannot be any abolition of Russian science, as well as the abolition of Russian culture. This is a science of the highest level, and it is quite natural that countries are interested in this cooperation," she said.

Yampolskaya pointed to the decision of the Japanese Foreign Ministry to resume sending students to Russia for internships from August. She called it a vivid example of international cooperation with an unfriendly state.

The presidential adviser admitted that the interaction between the two countries may affect not only science and education, but also other spheres of culture. In particular, we can talk about joint theatrical productions.

In addition, Yampolskaya recalled the plans of Russia and China to increase mutual student exchanges to 100,000 people by 2030. In her opinion, foreign countries understand the high level of Russian education.

To confirm her words, she cited the results of Russian schoolchildren and students at international Olympiads. For example, private members of the Russian national team won five gold medals at the International Physics Olympiad in Colombia, four gold awards at the International Chemistry Olympiad in Tashkent, as well as four gold and two silver medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Shanghai.

"This is, of course, a confirmation of the opportunities our domestic education system provides both for identifying the talents of our children and for their development," Yampolskaya said.

On July 19, Russian schoolchildren won four gold and two silver medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Shanghai. Arina Prokudina, Andrey Shishko, Roman Kravchenko and Dmitry Grishko became gold medalists, Alexander Skvortsov and Maxim Bolshakov received silver awards.

Speaking to Izvestia on July 21, Shishko said that the preparation and selection for the competition is a long process that takes more than a year. Kirill Sukhov, head of the Russian Federation's mathematics coaching staff, added that the team was generally satisfied with the result, although due to the covid restrictions and sanctions, Russian schoolchildren did not participate in intramural competitions for a long time, which added to the excitement.
