- The UK has charged the organizer after the disappearance of three people on the Irkut River
In the Irkutsk region, a 41-year-old individual entrepreneur who organized rafting on the river was charged after the disappearance of a four-year-old boy and two adults. This was reported on July 6 in the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the region.
"The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Irkutsk region have charged a 41-year—old man with committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence")," the Investigative Committee wrote in the Maks messenger.
The father of the missing boy reported on July 3 that his son had been swept away by a strong current. He also clarified that the child was rafting on the Irkut River with his mother and older brother. The incident occurred between the villages of Shamanka and Vvedenshchina.
On the same day, two men went in search of the child — after that they were not seen. It was noted that the organizers registered 49 participants of the rafting, but 182 people participated in the event. At the same time, the group did not register with the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
