Unknown persons tried to disrupt the congress of the German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party by turning on the "Imperial March" from the movie "Star Wars" during the meeting. This was announced on July 4 by the T-online portal.

"The mysterious music from Star Wars, which was played at the Alternative for Germany party conference, caused puzzled looks in the audience and served as a reason for a search," the publication says.

Technicians began searching for the sound source and found a Bluetooth speaker hidden behind a curtain under the roof of the hall. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

As the portal noted, the music was clearly distinguishable, but did not interfere with the congress. The performances continued on stage, and in the audience the incident caused laughter and bewilderment among some of those present.

On July 4, Izvestia correspondent Margarita Kostiv reported that thousands of protests were taking place in Erfurt, Germany, against the backdrop of the congress of the AfD party. According to police, about 50,000 anti-AFD protesters and about 10,000 counter-demonstrators are expected. The Erfurt exhibition center is completely cordoned off, with dozens of police cars and water cannons on site.
