- The Ministry of Energy pointed to threats from online resources about the availability of fuel at the gas station
Online resources that publish information about the availability of fuel at gas stations may pose a threat due to the possible illegal collection of personal data and the dissemination of false information. This was announced on July 1 by the Russian Ministry of Energy.
"Since the end of June 2026, there has been an increase in the activity of Internet resources providing information about the availability of fuel at gas stations," the agency said in a statement on the Maks messenger.
At the same time, it is alleged that information on such sites is allegedly entered by motorists themselves.
According to the agency, such services may pose a threat related to the illegal collection of users' personal data. In addition, the analysis of the information published by them, as stated in the Ministry, indicates its unreliability. The Ministry of Energy also pointed to cases of manipulation of fuel availability data at gas stations.
The Ministry stressed that they constantly monitor the situation on the domestic market of petroleum products and coordinate measures to ensure its sustainability.
The Agency monitors the implementation of the recommendations of the Russian Ministry of Energy Headquarters on a daily basis, and is also working within the framework of the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak to prepare and implement a set of measures aimed at the early stabilization of the domestic fuel market.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on June 30 that reaching agreements on affordable fuel import prices would be another step towards market stabilization. He also noted that questions about the situation in the Russian fuel sector should be addressed to the office of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
