The Moscow authorities have warned about new schemes of deception in online commerce. Attackers fake websites and try to gain access to customers' bank cards. "Scammers come up with new schemes of deception, fake websites and try to gain access to customers' bank cards," the agency said in a Telegram channel.

According to the mayor's office, attackers often manipulate the desire of customers to receive goods faster or with an additional discount. They try to divert communication to third-party messengers, where they offer to transfer money directly by card or phone number, or send phishing links to fake payment forms.

The authorities advise to beware of too low prices, as too profitable an offer often turns out to be a trick. You should not send an advance payment if you are not sure of the seller's integrity, and it is useful to check the reviews about the store before buying. When shopping inside large trading platforms, the algorithm of actions changes — there are already built-in protection tools.

The experts of the "Call me Back" project emphasize that you should never give passwords, one-time codes and card data to anyone, even if the interlocutor introduces himself as the marketplace support service. It is also not recommended to follow links from suspicious emails and messengers — marketplaces do not arrange closed sales and do not send payment links in private messages.
